I would imagine their new material may sound like The Mix... what was that song they did back in 2000? Expo 2000 or something?
well, the New Album Tour De France is not exactly, it has reworked Tour De France(an old song) and some new materials. me and my wife are very curious because we like the songs. We have The Mix, Trans Europe Express and Radioactivity.
if any of you are curious enough, Senor Coconut has an album called EL Baile Aleman(the German Dance). and the whole album is remakes of Kraftwerk's songs into south american dance tunes. before dissing it, you got to hear them songs like Showroom Dummies(cha cha cha), trans europe express(cumbia, The robots(cha cha cha), Neon Lights(cha cha cha), homecomputer(merengue), autobahn(cumbia merengue), tour de france(merengue), etc.
the best south american dance music I have heard. make you wanna cha cha cha

Pierre Henry used a method called Musique Concrete...that was basically around the 40's and 50's (I think), around the time when Stockhausen was doing his experimentation with noise and layers of silence...
But without Kraftwerk, electronic music wouldn't be where it is today, no doubt about that...

lol no prob...I didn't mean to belittle you or possibly sound condescending, but I don't want anyone to think that Kraftwerk is where it all started...sure they were probably the first that were commercialized and made a worldwide success out of it, but they weren't the first to experiment

very true, Josh. Kraftwerk did make it popular with all that electronic equipment they used and all the weird sounds at the time.
there were a lot of people experimenting with weird stuff way back in the old days. I don't know much about those people, but read about them here and there. very interesting stuff. but it always sounds good on paper but not on a CD.

Hello everyone, I'm new to this site so bear with me please =)
I just wanted to say that I have been a fan of Kraftwerk for some time (gotta love those electronic German bands!) and I think it's great that they are coming out with a new CD, however I'm a bit apprehensive. Usually when bands make a come back after many years of silence, they lose their flair. I think that if they do what they have been doing back in the eighties, then they would be fine. But if they try to conform to a mainstream style, they'd only be harming themselves. In any event, I am curious to hear what they come up with, and hopefully it's for the better.
What do you guys think of Senior Coconut?
PS: Just came in to stalk you Evilmatik =)

Oh, I think Evilmatik talked about you. Are you going to that concert at Empty Bottle?
Be prepared if you are. It's hotter than a witches tit in that place!
