I actually managed to miss this poll. odd. Out of the selection I'd probably go with masonna.

Someone was on here awhile ago asking about that Well Tuned Piano album, I found a place selling it for him and if I remember right it did go for about $140. For prices like that I still wouldn't pay even if I had the money to begin with. Well, unless it was a really good album and had a few disks or so to it. But the link I gave didn't give any such information (that I can recall.)

That's because it was just moved here.

Nice pick with Masonna...good to see that Masami won't completely dominant here.

I voted Masonna, mainly because he makes me think of the best aspects of Japan - exploding death matches, sushi and risky game shows.

While not among the greats, I listened to Prurients 'shipwreckers diary' recently, and found it to be not bad at all. Anyone else heard much from him/them?

This whole noise survey seems kinda silly to me. It's the tip of the iceberg... but then I guess, most people are only ever exposed to the tip before they crash into it and sink... Plus, the term "noise" in itself (I guess like just about any genre name...) is pretty vague. It's like saying, "I like music with drums." ... you could be saying you like anything from disco to John Phillip Sousa marching band music....

When we're talking "noise" as a genre, I generally associate it w/ primarily electronic atonal compositions that have very little (if any) traditional melody or rhythm...pure chaotic frenzy...

...but as you mentioned, all sorts of music-types incorporate atonality, but in "noise" we're looking for music that focuses on it as a primary musical statement...but you are right that this poll is a little limited...it's more of a "of these artists, who do you enjoy most?" type of deal...
