MIDI communication
I need to hook up my Keyboard to my PC, I have a MIDI cable and I know i have MIDI in and out on my keyboard, but how do i hook it to my PC.

yes, a soundcard with midi in. Or, depending on what midi recording program you use, you can just get a midi cable where the one end will plug into your gameport on you soundcard. How convinient is that!

Cakewalk makes a pretty good midi package that comes with the cable.

hey shadouts. i got that cakewalk program called music pack 2003. it came with a midi link up and everything but i cant get it to work. its through my joystick input so it should work. any suggestions?

I'd have to actually see you setup to see why it isnt working. Usually the problem is that you need to setup your keyboard to use a certain midi channel. Just look up some stuff on your directions and see if that might help.

thanks. i had a computer guy come look at it and he thought that i didnt have a midi/joy stick import. my aunts computer is a sceptre or some off brand and the guy said it was that the sound card was cheap and i'd have to upgrade it.
