actually i can think of one REALLY good thing about alanis morrisette... her success prompted wesley willis to not only write a song about her but also shoot a video for the song... and the best part is it got decent airplay on muchmusic in canada for a while... it was great

alanis morrisette makes my ears bleed, personally.

we used to have to sing her songs in primary school, at assembly. we were fairly "hip", you see. only now can i see that that plan backfired, because nobody is in love with alanis anymore.

she had her time in the spotlight, next, please.

really? I think she is rather underated. She has some really great songs, she is not your average artist which is one of the great reasons i like her

To be honest, i'd never paid much attention to her (bar the singles, obviously)...But I was listening to 'Jagged Little Pill' again recently, and found myself completely relating to the lyrics, on some songs at least.

Serves me right for being so ignorant, I suppose... I think she's a great lyricist. Plus she played God, quite literally.

she's got some great lyrics, suitable for rants and yet suitable for sadness. i used to listen to jagged litle pill years ago, although ive never given any of the later stuff much of a play... i should really give it a listen sometime.
