"Fun Fun Fun" by The Beach Boys

Heard this song on the radio today ("Fun Fun Fun") by The Beach Boys and it always reminds me about how some Beach Boys music can get you into that "summer fun" type mood... Their light fun tunes hit such a perfect chord in how they represent the attitude they were trying to get across... Such a fun song to sing along with too... I really dig that whole Beach Boys summer fun vibe... (including the hot rod tunes)...

Unlike some, I also like the "real" surfing instrumental music of the 60's by Dick Dale and followers of his style,, (many rock purists don't like both the fun Beach Boys/Jan and Dean style surf pop and also the cool vibrato surf guitar sound,,, but I love them both)...

Anyone else get the "good time" feeling from Beach Boys music??

Yes the Beach Boys do go well with summer and they do make you feel good. The Good Vibrations box set is incredible.

shemales

I think they are okay, and have respect for their influence on pop music.

but there is one single album I used to listen to all summer long when I was in college. it has beach boy influence on their song writing for sure but the guitar feedback makes it all more enjoyable.

that album is The Jesus and Mary Chain's Psychocandy. if you strip away the feedback, their songs on that album got great melodies like beach boys. I should dig it out and put a spin on it as soon as the heat wave arrives.

I don't listen to them as much as I'd like, but if there was any band to define a 'feeling' it would be the Beach Boys. The Boys have probably some of the best group and individual vocals around.
