would actually be aint got a, not dont have a, but i agree, whoever this guy is, is dumb. i went through my mos def and talib kweli phase i still thinkt heyre great, but i mean even common's got a little on them, and i dont know about everyone else, but im fans and everyone else on your little list, i just more agree with the emcees other people have on here gift of gab of blackalicious is hot, although id say his old labelmate lateef the truth speaker MAY have him beat. but TfB, youre very wrong, i know everyone you mentioned rather well...and they are all semi-mainstream...dont put out the backpacker attitude without the pack to back it up, eh? jus allah, tragedy khadafi, mf doom, and quasimoto tell me ONE THING about each without having to google it, and ill take back what i said, otherwise, please shut your snobby ass up, because i agree with everyone else.

Big L, was by far the best Emcee for his time. He was so ahead of anything anybody was spitting back then it was pathtic. If he didn't die, he would be the besty Lyricist to ever grab a mic. Grab some of his old freestyles. THe ones he did on the wakeup show and such, then compare them to anything being said back then. Then compare them to anything be spit today. You will see what I mean.
As of alive right now? I would have to say Chino XL. Listen to his recent wakeup show work he did stating that "he is back". To me nobody can touch him .
Now, my Opinion on Aesop rock. I hate em. Atmosphere etc.. garabe. I hate the backpacker that can't stay on beat. I hate the meaning behind there empty songs. I hate how they pick any issue and think it means somthing. Anybody can make a track about some random issue. I don't want to hear crap I can read on yahoo news. I want to hear a story. I want to have some feeling behind it.
Another good Emcee, is Grafh he is Amazing
Anyway check out
and do it now . peace

random...i dont know about that, on atmospheres "the bird sings why the caged i know", he gets pretty deep into nation-wide issues. i dont think its really too hollow or empty...even less-established and edgy PUNK groups wont broach the subject too much unless theyre on a rock against bush compilation...but whatever, you have a right to your opinion.
