J-pop
This is kind of interesting... If you listen to japanese pop music you can hear a big diffrence in their style of pop then any were else. A lot of the pop artist themselves are just wierd then most of our artist here... Take people like Gacket. But anyway I wonder if anyone listen to j-pop music? I know a bit since I watch anime and hear it a lot. I listen to a few bands or singers not much. I was just wondering who listens to them.

I used to listen to japanese pop when I was very young. no, I do not know what they are singing, probably some sappy sh!t. but they were hot as hell, and as a teenager, it was fine by me. but I stopped after a while cause I got tired of it. and I didn't have money to invest in that kind of not-so-inspiring stuff.
I don't know who Gacket is, what kind of music Gacket produces?
there is a thread in rap and hip hop about this japanese group called Dragon Ash. I downloaded some songs from them. and they are fun to listen to.
while I love japanese animations, some of the songs are just totally cheesy pop. the only decent animation soundtrack is from Akira's.
but Japan does have a lot of artists doing different genres in music, other than pop stuff, like DJ Krush( he does instrumental hip hop with some guest rappers but can't even speak english), Merzbow(noise god from japan), Melt Banana(japanese no wave band), and many more.
