Dylan definitely did covers of traditional folk and blues in his early career.

Well, Nirvana's "Unplugged" album had a folky quality to it, but I wouldn't call them "folk rock".

That's a good point. But in their original compositions, they don't seem to be in the least influenced by either traditional folk or folk-rock.
