Hi, I'm new at this forum

I have listened to Jeff Buckley for like a year now. And I'm a BIG FAN! =)

He is so genious, and with that voice...!
Me and my brother got almost everything from him; Grace, mystery white boy, live at sin-e [legacy edition], Grace: single pack, Sketches for my sweetheart the drunk, two books about him, Live in chicago, Songs to no one... I dont think its more :P

Anyways I'm from Oslo, Norway and I'm on vecation here in New York.

So me and my brother decided to take a walk down to Sin-e (donnu how to get that e with that little thing over here in NY) :P.

We went to St. Marks Place, and it was supposed to be there, but we didnt found it... We went into a little guitar store, and asked where Sin-e was, but it was run out of buissness for like 7 years ago. (The ppl who had bought the place where sin-ehad made a store called "techno house".. So that sucked.

But on the other hand we found out there was a reopened Sin-e some blocks away, so we went there at night and saw a band play. And we bought Sin-e t-shirts, so that was fun! + that guy in the guitar store knew jeff buckley and fixed hes guitars and stuff.

Just felt to tell :P

saw the live at sin-é cd in the record store yesterday
didn't buy it though, costed almost 30 Euros!!!!
same reason I didn't buy Led Zep's or Pink Floyds best of or Neil Young's decade, it's just too much money, even if these are all doublers. well it would be ok if I would only buy one cd at a time, but euh that very very rarely happens

I've never looked over any best of Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd CDs but I can tell you that Decade is well worth the money. Two thumbs up.

And to keep this on topic, Jeff Buckley gets two thumbs up too.

Jeff Buckley
Grace (1994)
Grace

There's the moon asking to stay
Long enough for the clouds to fly me away
Well it's my time coming, i'm not afraid to die
My fading voice sings of love,
But she cries to the clicking of time
Of time

Wait in the fire...

And she weeps on my arm
Walking to the bright lights in sorrow
Oh drink a bit of wine we both might go tomorrow
Oh my love
And the rain is falling and i believe
My time has come
It reminds me of the pain
I might leave
Leave behind

Wait in the fire...

And I feel them drown my name
So easy to know and forget with this kiss
I'm not afraid to go but it goes so slow

Quickly reading the above's posts...I think i share alot of your enthusiasm and love for Jeff...what a wonderful musician.

The new live at Sin-e is amazing!

I found this forum while searching for some info on the band "ours"...

Just discovering this great band is a wonderful treat...
Anyone know where they're from? I think NY, but not quite sure.

jeff buckley is the as tragic a loss as there has been to music in our generation or any other. 'grace' was one of the most spectacular debuts of any artist in any time. from the music found on 'sketches' and other unreleased studio and live tracks which float around on the internet all indications are that 'my sweetheart the drunk' was to be a spectacular sophomore effort as well. not a day goes by when idont think of jeff and regret his much premature departure from this world as igaze upon the poster of him on my wall. ihave even written a lyric in his rememberance-

-A Special Place
You swam into the river,
The water around you was cold,
You felt your body shiver,
It shook you right down to the bone,
Right down to the bone…

There's a special place,
And it's where you are now,
From that special place,
You still touch us somehow,
There's a special place,
Oh, it's where you are now,
From that special place,
We still feel you somehow,

You swam into the river,
Swam into the river alone,
You swam into the river,
And the river, it took you home,
Oh, it took you home…

There's a special place,
And it's where you are now,
From that special place,
You still touch us somehow,
There's a special place,
Oh, it's where you are now,
From that special place,
We still feel you somehow,

So young to go, so much more to do,
So young to go, so much more for you,
We wont let you go, we will hold on to
You…

They pulled you from the river,
Your body was as cold as stone,
Even now I still shiver,
And I know that I'm not alone,
We're not alone,
No one's alone…

There's a special place,
And it's where you are now,
From that special place,
You still touch us somehow,
There's a special place,
Oh, it's where you are now,
From that special place,
We still hear you somehow,
We still feel you somehow…
--chrisarclark

iwill forever cherish his music.
