music for romantic evening ALL CONTRIBUTE

Okay, so I am planning a romantic dinner at home for my girlfriend, and I want to burn a disc of romantic songs that would be suitable for dinner music. She has a thing for spanish guitar, so anything with that would be nice as well. Could everyone give their reccomendations. Thank you very much to all that contribute.

firstly you can check out this thread: http://www.radiomute.com/showthread....ght=love+songs

I would go for:
- Jeff Buckley: I want someone badly
- Marvin Gaye (he's always good, hehe)- when a man loves woman (or otis redding)
- my funny valentine - chet baker (really corny)
- coldplay (trouble)
- Joe cocker - you are so beautiful to me
- Norah Jones - turn me on

well coldplay and norah jones are more modern, and thats what Im looking for. Nothing old or out of the ordinary, just nice romantic mellow music to have dinner to!

well, being romantic is a very subjective thing. for me and my wife, it is romantic when we listen to Skinny Puppy together. so that probably won't work for you and your girl.

but Nick Cave and the Bad Seed's album called The Boatman's Call is definitely romantic. beautiful ballads with very very good lyrics. u may want to look into that.

Well, this might be too far back to be considered but for my money it doesn't get more romantic than Al Green. If you're interested, get the For The Good Times CD. Another possibility would be Astral Weeks by Van Morrison. For a more recent suggestion look to Passion by Peter Gabriel, the visceral soundtrack to The Last Temptation Of Christ (don't mention that A great CD to make love to, as well. The earlier suggestion by Lovage is right on if you want a hip-hop/soul fusion flavor, it's a great CD. As far as spanish guitar, there are the Gypsy Kings obviously (ahem), but I'd probably bypass that an go for a killer flamenco CD like Sevilla by Young and Rollins. Good times
