yeah the beginning tracks of fever and mirrors and lifted are songs I always skip; I don't know, it's more like soundrecordings, they're no songs, why put them on an album and why in front???
an attempt to tip the scales is imho one of the best songs on fever and mirrors but why that grotesque and totally unfunny ending??? and some songs on lifted reminded a lot those on fevers and mirrors I thought. that was why I didn't get the hyping of lifted so much, as fevers and mirrors was definitely as good

Bright eyes is good music, its true you would have to be musically retarded not to appreciate it... by the way conors band after bright eyes is desaparecidos.... a little heavier not quite my cup of tea but good none the less.

I have "I'm wide awake, its morning" only listened to it twice so I can't comment to much but the duet he does with Emmylou Harris sounds amazing, all post more when I listen more.

I have bought them both.
I have never heard any Bright Eyes before these two albums. I have mostly listened to Im Wide Awake It Is Morning. And I was blown away, I have not found music this exciting to me in a long while. I have been seraching for something new, I bought Interpol, Libertines, Muse and many more bands that the media likes to build up, but they all dissappointed me... well... they didn't knock me over the way Bright Eyes has. Of course I've played it 4 times today, and maybe Ill wake up in the morning and feel different about it...but this is the most excited I have been in a long long time about new music.

If I didn't spend 100 bucks today on music and dvds I would go buy Bright Eyes other albums... but that will have to wait. The last song on Im Wide Awake is absolutely amazing.... can't remember the name, and the CD is in the car and Im too lazy to go get it.....but track 10.... amazing....

I'd heard other Bright Eyes records and I'm so glad he experimented with Digital Ash cause it's one of the best albums ever. Perhaps it's just me but the electric guitar gets to me a lot better than the acoustic. I wish Ben Kweller would rock out a lil more as well.

Some girl recommeded them to me like they were the greatest thing music has ever seen and I was let down big time. The vocals seem dull, but their lyrics are pretty good. Overall not my thing though.
