err... this may sounds a bit stupid.. but i'd read somewhere that No Doubt is a Ska band & Shaggy belongs to Reggae.

Is it correct? I'm new to Ska music btw.

No Doubt are definately not Ska...not in my opinion anyway. A lot of Shaggy's music is Reggae though...especially his older music.

I've heard from some people who saw No Doubt before their first album came out who said they were a ska band back then. Maybe they just evolved into their sound to be different. Not like they have been doing for the past few years where it has been to sell more records to a different group of kids but maybe to get away from the ska boom that was going on at that time. whatever reason the change happened for they are not ska or punk and should not be mentioned here for any reason.

no doubt is (were) doin this rocksteady thing.... more slower than ska....but some ppl put it all in the same box... i don't care whether their music is called... i like some of their old songs.... but no doubt are a very commercialised (rock^^) band,`?




i dont read the full thread so sorry if any1 said this before -ppl try downloading "ska-p" songs they're quite great ska
