Sorry...answering your other question, I'm into all kinds of music except for top 40 and country. Bands I like include Beastie Boys, Beck, Deftones, Foo Fighters...too many to list.
As for punk I'm more into the raw sounding stuff rather than the studio refined pop/punk comercial bands like Blink etc. Hot Hot Heat, The Rapture, McLucksy, At The Drive-In etc. I like those type of bands.

Ahh ok, thank you! I just drove myself crazy looking through all of my cds, reading the backs of all my comps, couldn't find it. Which Tony Hawk was it on?

Other countries seem to only pick up on our music when they're already established here. The Vines are the only band I can think of that got world recognition at the start of their carreer.

yeah i got yer point.
i think its pretty unfair. i have lived in australia for a yr. and i know some of bands there which r way cool. but once i'm home and step out of australia, i can hardly hear from em.
Unlikely, here are many bands from the states, which are pretty lame, they can still stick around. and their popularity is incredibly high. isn't there any room for the aussie music??

I just heard the song Bandages by Hot Hot Heat for the first time maybe a couple weeks ago...I got addicted to it! Something about that song just sticks in your head and nothing you can do will make it leave! I even got my mom singing it!

I think it's just because radio stations would rather play local music than bands from Australia. Australian music has really picked up though in the last 5-10 years though so I think people will start to realise that there is talent down under!
Also they want popular bands and because Australia has a low population, the bands don't have as many fans as in the US etc. That's what I thnk.

Yeah it's a good song. You should listen to some Goodshirt...they sound pretty cool. They're from New Zealand.
