If you're gonna listen to that style of music, Jack Johnson and Howie Day are MUCH better

John Mayer has alot of promise. I haven't seen an artist make the acoustic sound as fresh in many a year. I think most people either love or hate him, but he brings something different to the table and he's one to keep your eye on.

i generally like that type of music (in moderation) but i really couldn't ever get into john mayer. part of it could be that i already knew him by reputation when i first started hearing his music (he's famous throughout georgia for bedding sorority girls in record numbers), but it always seemed uninspired to me.

Well I try not to let personal information ruin my appreciation of the music. But bedding sorority girls? This is rocknroll we are talking about right?

I guess my point was more along the lines that rock/pop/etc stars bedding sorority girls, or girls in general for that matter, is not an uncommon practice. If an artists sexual life is an issue there is always Christian Rock...

Yeah, I agree with NDF. If he keeps moving forward, he's gonna be a major dude. I don't know what the big problem is that people have with him...maybe he's too decent...doesn't use enough profanity or get nasty enough in his videos, maybe? Isn't taking enough drugs? Needs to get arrested a few times for his image, perhaps?

Maybe if he got more publicity about his nights with the sorority girls, it would help his career...you folks sure he's only 16?

I wouldn't be so sure about that, NDF...

He's like a Dave Matthews on crack, coming out of a homeless shelter with a bad case of scabies and a blanket that smells like pee.........
He'd have to pay me to buy his album. Then I'd thorw it away in a McDonalds bathroom.....
