Even if you don't end up thinking they're better than the sex pistols, you should definately at least listen to fugazi

Furthermore, I think that punk has become so diverse that different parts need different anthems.

Anarchy in the UK would be a good one for that time
Room Without A Window by Op Ivy would be a very good one
I Wanna Riot reflects the punk revival of the early 90s
for better or worse, "The Anthem" by Good Charlotte probably is an appropriate anthem for punk music today.

I just cant see Good Charlotte as punk. They sound like the kind of band that could proabably play Stairway To Heaven, but instead chose to play 'punk'. I like the idea of punk bands not being able to play very well.

New Rose is a punk anthem. It was the first single to be released that called itself punk. It also makes me laugh

I wouldn't call GC punk of today...maybe for teeny boppers who are into comercial pop-punk but not at all for punk lovers.

fugazi is okay, I don't like their music that much, but I have respect for what they believe in and what they have accomplished.

one of punk's attitudes is anti establishment, right? we can all agree on that, correct? so since punk has become another marketing term for record labels, shouldn't we look for some other forms of music that has the punk attitude but rather difficult to define musically or even difficult to market? wouldn't that be more interesting than arguing who/what true punk is?

I'll give you that, probably they don't have anthem songs

Op Ivy's Unity or Room Without a Window would be songs I'd pick before AitUK though
