I think the title of the song is called " Blues in the night "
The song was popular in the 40s and 50s .

I remember the line : Your momma done told me .
It was a female vocalist , is all I know .

i haven't heard it in a long time, but rosemary clooney did a song called "blues in the night"

i don't know if it has that line though, or if it's the right one.

I did a search on the lyrics of " Blues in the Night " by Rosemary Clooney and that is the beginning of the song .
