I've heard of pretty much all of the artists HC listed. I guess you just have to keep an ear out for them and try to get to listen to them. It's hard living in Australia though.

It sucks, cause' most people only know of the hip-hop thats played on MTV2, and alot of that is gonna be 50cent or some ballads. I for one don't wanna see Busta Rhymes all up close talkin' about "givin' it" to anybody. That shit's weak. My man K-OS is on there though. He's a MC/singer on the Astralwerks label that I promote occasionally with my friend. He was #6 the other day, and he slipped to #7......

I'd again direct people to the Definitive Jux label, as they are the one true underground hip-hop label with alot of talent, and alot of buzz lately. One of my favorite MC's -Aesop Rock- is on there, and everyone else is good too. I actually saw a short interview with some of those guys on MTV2, but it might be awhile till people move away from rap ballads......

Hip-hop is always gonna be subject to commercialization, because it's a true fact that it's out-sold all other forms of music put together in the last 15 years. So, obviously when a market brings in that kind of money it's gonna suck here and there. I believe that this art form will see a golden age once the Def Jux roster and people like it surface......
