Sure, there's no denying that musicians listen to music very differently than non-musicians. That's inevitable, because music is a musician's "native tongue", so to speak. But there are hundreds of thousands of jazz fans throughout the world who don't know anything at all about music. And I am very much persuaded that no musician anywhere is making music "for musicians only".

what do instruments do you play? i play guitar/bass/piano/drums and i just got a clarinet, so i'm just learning that one. it's fun, really hard.

Well, as I said, I play poorly and I haven't picked up my guitar in quite awhile.. I also play piano (keyboards) and I love exotic percussion instruments like the Guiro... Production is more my thing... I like putting all the pieces together in a studio... But, playing music is just a hobby for me, not a way I have ever tried to make a living at (too hard)... Just demo work and some regional rock music productions back in the late 80's and early 90's...
