I agree it's sad jazz isn't appreciated anymore, i like alot of the old time favourite jazz tenors like Coleman Hawkins & Jimmie Noone but also think alot of the more acid & smooth jazz is pretty good as well.
There is so many different styles of jazz from fusion to Latin etc that i think it will be back soon in full swing h swing jazz! no? ok.

To be honest, alot of it's not popular, cause' alot of it's boring. Also, there's a whole bunch of new jazz that sucks, cause it does not have that gritty sound. When jazz was about the solos, and the jams, it was good. It seems like every form of music gets modernized in some way, the keyboard sounds that have gotten all modern and shit kinda ruins it for me. Make the keyboard sound like a piano! I also hate electronic dums unless it's hip hop, or drum n bass....Plus, the vocals have just gotten corney. People don't have as much soul as they used to......
Give me the old Buddy Rich and Miles Davis, and if had to pick some new stuff...Joshua Redman...
