I think that tmz is the only one claiming that he died. So I still wouldn't rely much on that.

That was the case initially. Like I said, KCAL has been reporting that he is dead.
A few other online sources state the same.

regardless of what he turned into later into his career this is pretty shocking news. it's like my roommate just said 'he's one of those people you hardly ever considered as a person and therefore never considered the possibility of them actually dying'.
either way, here's hoping he's found peace wherever he is.
