Quite shocking news to wake up to. Some people who I speak with about music - not my closest friends - laugh and sneer when I bring up that MJ was a mountain of a musical genius, though be it a tortured genius. The end of his life - and that means the last twenty years - were certainly tragic and unfortunate.
I'm DJing tonight at the watering hole, so I'll be spinning some MJ.
Be well, Mike.

The first time I had to go into the breech after becoming "Satchmo" and he dropped the best performances I saw at one these things. I have to admit it was a big thing (and honestly still was/is) for both of us back then ( she spent a month before decding on her dress and whanots....none of which was borrowed, I would like to add!).... coming from our backgrounds.
Lady Satchmo was up on the chair! and was later beside herself when she met him.... the first and last time that would happen (as in, being beside herself with excitement. The only person that came that close again musicially speaking was McCartney.)....and I would like to say, I actually had to stand up and applaud! This is before lip-syncing became the norm....and keep in mind he wasn't wearing not any knee pads! Dig the James Brown tribute....that's if you know your James Brown performances.

I have watched this mutliple times now and only reminds me just how happy Lady Satchmo was then and now have to get the Puffs!

Hard to believe it's been 7,786 days since that day. As in, 21 years, 3 months, and 24 days.
Puffs, STAT!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, music snobs who can't appreciate a good pop song are lame. The Jackson 5 made some of the greatest most lovable songs to ever grace Motown. Then he went on to define the production value and to set the melodic standard for modern pop music that still hasn't been improved upon. His stuff just makes you happy and it has an endless longevity!
Peace to his family. Thanks for all the great hits Michael! The world loves you. I know in my heart you would never hurt a child. RIP.

I grew up with his music. And it is a pretty weird feeling of a world without Michael Jackson.
Hope he is in peace now.

I think he was guilty. I also find it interesting that Obama still hasn't said anything.
I feel sorry for his kids. You know everyone will be fighting to get them....and the money that would come with them.
I hope with all those lawyers around him they at least made sure he had a will.
The police are looking for his personal doctor. They impounded the doctors car; however, they can't find the doctor....which is pretty strange in itself. You're the personal doctor of one of the most famous people in the world and he basically died in your presence and than you go M.I.A. when you know the police would obviously want to speak to you?
When I first heard that his doctor was already there yesterday when he collapsed....I thought it was strange unless he was already not feeling well. Apparently, the doctor had come over the night before because he wasn't feeling well. Why he wasn't taken to a hospital at that time is another mystery.

Apparently, the police are looking for his doctor because they have been told he collapsed after being given a shot of Demerol....which he had been getting daily.

Probably Herr Dr didn't want to go to jail. I could be wrong, but wasn't Anna Nicole Smith using Demerol when she died?

He was apparently considered dead by the paramedics and they wanted to call the corner to pick up his body from his home; however, the doctor insisted they take him to the hospital. He was flatlining the entire time he was with the paramedics and in the hospital.
