Exactly how have The Beatles' albums been issued as many as four times? I thought Steely Dan was the worst at releasing and re-releasing their albums, but I could be wrong.

Now, for The Beatles' albums, there's the vinyl, the 1987 CD release and the upcoming 2009 CD release.

I tend to believe there will be some improvement this go-round.

There will be some who will endlessly debate these releases before they actually come out and can be heard (go to stevehoffman.tv for six threads of varying degrees of useless and useful information). There will be some who quibble over the marketing and packaging. None of which is bad in and of itself.

For me, I think it only detracts what could be a very nice thing for a lot of Beatles fans.

I hope eveyone has enough funds to buy what they want of these and I hope, at least during the initial release period, all the different configurations sell for a decent price for the consumer.

Re-read my post again and you will see these are the first real CD releases to bother with....

hey i Love sounds truly amazing. Only chronic complainers would rag on it. I look forward to both remastered sets. After Love and 1 I've been counting the days till 9/9!

Love? You mean the George Martin re-mixed abomination for that snoozefest Cirque du Soleil show of the same name? I remember going to see that show and doing my best to keep from falling asleep....never mind how bad the re-mix sounded....they had John Lennon's mother dying at the end of the show set to A Day in the Life. It actually was one of the best parts of the performance....but wrong song and wrong time. Don't even get me started how they didn't use In My Life....which is one of Lennon's best songs and would have been the best choice during the depiction of his mother's death.

1? Don't even get me started on compilations....but of all bands....why would anyone buy a Beatles compilation?

Have you actually ever heard any of the original vinyl releases? If you had....you would realize just how bad the CD's have been so far.

Finally, I wouldn't bother with the Stereo box....especially with them compressing the stereo mix. The way to go is the Mono until what is now known as The White Album. Although, it's a toss-up between the mono and stereo mix for The White Album.

I suppose this is as good a place as any for my most recent Beatles confession:

Even after all these years, the UK version of Rubber Soul still feels almost like a compilation album to me.
