Brel's songs are not especially well known in the English-speaking world except in translation and through the interpretations of other singers, most famously Scott Walker and Judy Collins. In French-speaking countries, Brel is also remembered as an actor and director. Jacques Brel has sold over 25 million records worldwide, including over 12 million albums and singles in France and Belgium[1].

Very, very good singing. Check this shit out.

Don't make me laugh...of course there is, however; you didn't request any knowledge being dropped. You just started a check it out thread.

To get this thread on track: Which recording do you like? I just started listening to his '61 and '64 Olympia performances, which are good and apparently his singing is equally clear when performing live. I don't know any of his albums yet though.

I'm not a immense fan, but I appreciate and do enjoy his voice, a wonderful tone. He's better than Full House.
