Henry Rollins spoken word

I've seen on the line-up of Pukkelpop this year that there is an act called "Henry Rollins spoken word". Apparently it's him just talking about politics and racism etc.

Anyone ever heard of this and does it make sense?

Yeah, Rollins has been doing that since the late 90's. He pretty much talks about whatever is on his mind and all of the crazy shit that has happened to him. I used to have some MP3's of his spoken word from like 2002 where he was talking about how he got jumped outside of his apartment by this dude with a gun and he almost died. It's pretty entertaining actually. He's actually got quite the following.

If you're a fan of his, you may want to check it out, he talks about some crazy shit.

I think he's been doing it since the 80's.

Really? I don't consider myself an expert but I didn't get into it until a co-worker of mine turned me onto it in early 2000's sometime. I did some searching online Illegally, before it was illegal, and found some stuff from like 1997 and after. I had just assumed that was his earlier work.

Somewhere in my music collection I should have one of the original cassette only copies of A Short Walk on a Long Pier from '85 described in this wiki article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short_Walk_on_a_Long_Pier
