Since this is the only World&Folk forum...

I've been really getting into Scandinavian folk music, and I've always loved Irish folk music... does anyone else have a suggestion for WORLD folk music? I'm not big on country, or American folk to be honest, I definitely prefer foreign. Just thought I'd give it a shot in this forum!

Have you come across many people who give recommendations for things they haven't seen or heard?

If so, you need not worry about that on this site.

Good to see the former Lady of the High Dessert is still above ground and dropping knowledge. How goes things in Norway?

You'd be shocked to find out how many just pull things out of their ass and go "taa-daa!". It's amazing. Never ceases to amaze me, really.

Well, like I said it's not something which happens here. There isn't as many posters who are posting these days, however, there is a lot of knowledge to be found in pretty much most genres/sub-genres of music.

For example....

http://www.radiomute.com/11516-worl-...endations.html

http://www.radiomute.com/2455-tuvan-throat-singing.html

http://www.radiomute.com/26947-i-like-huun-huur-tu.html

http://www.radiomute.com/15989-flemish-folk.html

P.S. When it comes to Scandinavian anything....The Former Lady of the High Dessert knows WTF? she is talking about.
