Listen to Big Star and Pavement.
I always forget how his stage name is spelled properly.

Pavement and Big Star I've heard of but never listened to, are there albums in particular you'd recommend?

when it comes to Pavement, I'd try 'Wowee Zowee' or 'Brighten the Corners'

I suggest you listen to Andy McKee. It doesn't matter what type of music you're into, it's impossible to not like Andy McKee.

You've got a nice list of artists, there

I've been recently into Jump Back Jake. They're kind of a blues/motown/rock sort of deal.
Enon is also good, especially the Believo! and High Society albums.
