RIP Peruvian Songbird

The astonishing Ms Zoila Augusta Emperatriz Chavarri del Castillo, more famously known as Yma Sumac, the Peruvian Songbird, has passed away. She was 86 years old.

When people in eras to come talk about the greatness of voices in the past, sheer power harmonizing with warm fragility, Ms Sumac will form part of the arch of the pinnacle of the greatest voices of all time.

At her most prolific, it is believed that Ms Sumac's vocal range was able to reach five octaves.

Be well, Ms Sumac
