Fruityloops slow sample problem

Hello,

I'v got a problem with Fruityloops 3.4. The program is working really fine, but:
If I add a sample to a pat, so that I can use it as a sound to play my keyboard (which is off-course connected with MIDI), the sound comes quite late after touching a key on my keyboard.
Does anybody know the reason of this? I'd like to see it otherwise you know.

Greetings,

Well have you checked your options/audio settings/audio reduce your buffer length.

Thanx effectivenow,

Indeed, my buffer length had to be smaller to solve the problem.
But what exactly does buffer-length mean? Does it reduce the quality of the sample?

No, it's just the time you give your processor to generate the sounds. If your processor is good and the soundcard you can give it a very small amount time to do this. If it starts crackling and cutting out you need to give it more buffer space and time. But to answer your question the quality is not diminished.

Cheers,
