AC/DC - Black Ice

The album has been out for almost a week and still no thread about it?

Anyone actually heard it yet? Is it any good? Better than Stiff Upper Lip? Worse?

Get it on!

If you have heard one post-Bon Scott AC/DC record you have heard them all.

By the way, this is a funny backhanded review.

I tried to listen to it and after awhile it sounded like one very long song.

I haven't downloaded it yet but I will soon enough just to see what it sounds like, although honestly I probably have already heard it.

I can tell you with 100% confidence that it will not be as good as Back In Black. And that's a good enough reason for me not to have bothered with it as of yet. I'll get there.

Here are my favourite songs from the album:

'Rock n' Roll Train' just may be the most boring song I've heard all year.
I was particularly interested in hearing 'Stormy May Day' as I heard that Angus plays bottleneck on the tune. I listened to it, and then had to put on some Elmore James to return balance to the Force.

There's way too much cool shit out there to waste my time with this.

I must say my expectations aren't very high. But, adressing Satchmo, I cannot agree with the Brian Johnson albums being all alike. Back in black, Fly on the wall, Razor's Edge (which I consider the Johnson era highlists, at least studio-albums-wise) are all quite different. The same goes for FTATR and Video, which mostly sucked, even though they weren't alike, either.

@Seerix, maybe another review? Until sometime November maybe?

I could almost review the album now

Besides, we might have to wait until AC/DC hires an orchestra and makes pop music for 20 years

Hey, they did have John Lange as a producer already, who knows what's gonna happen! And all the other ex-Glam producers are pretty much doing nothing these days from what I've heard.

Lange producing three Def Leppard albums makes him an "ex-glam" producer?
