Not sure if I should consider this spam or not, but I've taken a look at a lot of IK's products - don't own anything yet, but I've been considering the Miroslav Philharmonik...although in general I have to say I prefer East West's products, no offense.

Hi Seba,
No spam... although it is tasty! I am here to help support IK products, so if you have questions, thoughts, concerns... post em up or PM me.
Miroslav Philharmonik is worth checking out, you can download a 10 day trial from our website and see if the product is right for you. There are also audio clips available on the IK site. I am not sure if I am allowed to post links, but just search for us through your favorite search engine.
East West makes some good products as well. Its all about finding the tools that suit your needs and work style!
Thanks.
Paul

Hi will2009, Well.. I would have to recommend Miroslav Philharmonik of course!
But seriously, what are your needs? What kind of sounds are you looking for? On what platforms? Anything specific?
Thanks!

I'm working on Intel/Mac. I, have ST2.5, it's been great thus far. My need is to capture, as much realism from the sounds as possible, thus, the software has to offer the flexibility to assist me in doing so.

Hi will2009,
Thanks for the info. Well, Miroslav Philharmonik is definitely compatible with your version Mac, as long as you are running 10.4.x or higher. The software is available in VST, RTAS, AU, and Stand Alone formats.
In regards to realism, a big aspect of this library is the realism and emotion captured in the recording of the instruments. Each note sampled has some feeling and emotion behind it, and that translates well to recordings. You have heard sounds from this library in movies, TV, film, music, etc.., all because of its playability and feeling captured.
If there are any detailed specific needs you want to inquire about, please post it up!
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
Paul

Thanks Paul, I think I will give Miroslav a spin, but I gotta tell you , I am really leaning more towards the East West Lineup, with a bit of reluctance, due solely to the fact that they don't offer demo.
Believe me, I contacted them just to let them know how I felt about this practice. If you have confidence in your product then let the buyer sample it prior to purchase, and that's how I feel about it. Now, I have ST2
and I know it's shortcomings very well, again I'll give Miroslav a spin, in the coming days.

Hi will2009,
Your very welcome. IK does offer demo versions of all of our plugins, including Miroslav. Between this and the available audio examples on our website, you can get a nice idea of what is possible with the plugin. Most local music stores do have our software installed, namely Guitar Center and Sam Ash locations. I see that you are in the Illinois area, if you would like to PM a more exact location, I can check and see which store has the software installed. Nothing like a hands on demo with the full product!
Sorry.. if just felt like time for a mass party! ^^

What is the difference in the store installed version and the download version?
Actually, as far as the mp3 demos are concerned, I have listened to "Synful Orchestra" "Motu Symphony" " Miroslav " & " East-West, from a demo standpoint the EAST-WEST and SYNFUL Lineup sounds like what I,m looking for, both Miroslav and Motu sound more synth than string, at least to
my ears. So, I plan to test the waters and download the Miroslav demo, and from there the Synful demo, Unfortunately, East-West does not offer a demo, which makes me a little hesitant to deal with them at all, and I contacted them to let them know just how I felt about it, didn't change the fact that they don't offer a demo.
