If you checked the links above you would have found....any of the hatART/hatOLGY recordings you can find where he's playing. His solo recording For Alto is a landmark recording. Anything with his Classic Quartet. As in, Forces in Motion Quartet, which includes Marilyn Crispell, Gerry Hemingway, and Mark Dresser.

One point, hatHut is reissuing Willisau (Quartet) 1991. So, I wouldn't get that unless you can get it on the cheap. It normally can go has high as $250 U.S.

Since the hatHUT's are all limited edition releases of only 3000....that is were you should start first if you can.

For example....

Quartet (Dortmund)
Quintet (Basel) 1977

They just reissued....

Performance (Quartet) 1979

Anyone who still hasn't picked up the Albert Ayler box set might look into this. Depending on their international shipping costs this is an excellent price.

Chick Corea - The Complete "Is" Sessions

Chick back when he was still in DA Prince of Darkness' band and still breaking off some serious s**t on his own recordings....before Jumping the Shark and going for the Benjamins. Hey, he's got to pay those Scientology bills, BABY!

Charles Mingus - Changes One

Great music, but something from the drums doesn't settle right with me. Maybe it's just that Dannie Richmond is playing on a much nicer/cleaner sounding drum set than on the Mingus albums I'm more familiar with, but something about his playing on this album sounds way too polished to me.

Not because you are very famous and succesful now, it means you can criticize other drummers playing you know.

"You know who would've been a better choice for playing on this record? Me."
