So I guess we can all agree that Hot Water Music is the shit.

Does anyone know anything similar?

I think it's strange that there's so little reaction to this thread. Hasn't anyone heard of them?

Not that I'm saying they're bad or anything but a lot of bands have that same kind of general sound, don't they? What bands do they remind me of? Jawbreaker and Jimmy Eat World. Jawbreaker being by far the best of the three imo.

I like post-hardcore, but there are a lot of better bands in the genre than Hot Water Music imo. Drive Like Jehu for instance.

Trasnlation:

Did it cross your mind that there wasn't much response because most everyone here doesn't agree with the assessment of their being "the shit". Maybe s**t came across their minds but along the more OLD SCHOOL meaning of the word and not the positive way it was used in your use of the word.

Personally, I wouldn't even bother recommending them.

Not with groups like Big Black, Fugazi, and several other better and more interesting groups to recommend.

YO!

They're in a whole other league. The Big League.

I had never heard of Hot Water Music until this thread, and I only just today noticed the thread. So, I checked out a few songs, "Remedy", "Driving Home", "Minno", "Loft", and "Paper thin."

The title of that last one pretty much describes their music.

I'm not a big fan of the genre, but I prefer the sound of the 1980s post-hardcore over anything afterwards.
