I am more into electronic music than rock etc these days and have been for a number of years. Not the sort of electronic stuff that other electronic RM people are into though. I find that there is nobody on RM that I can talk to about music these days.
Have you heard the Presets? They are good electo pop, male vocals though.

Yes I know but the individual songs could lead you to some bigger and better thing

I am kind of playing mine sweeper here, the spectrum of recommendations you are asking for seems pretty wide to me, but I'm pretty sure I can find a few things for you once I find one artist you'll really like. You know Anne Clark?

What about Hot Chip? Try Coming on Strong or for tracks "Keep Fallin'", "Crap Kraft Dinner", etc. Male vocals though.
Broadcast and Lali Puna would be good choices if you're in for an edgier sound. Try Haha Sound and Tender Buttons and Scary-World Theory respectively. Stay clear from LP's Faking the Books.

Good to know Tanjello. What kind of electronic music are you into?
I have a Hot Chip album, dj kicks. I listened to it one time through while very unfocused and thought it was mediocre. I need to give it another listen since it seems like every weekend their playing a show around here.
What do you mean by edgier sound Orpheus?
Bonnie. Yes I am keeping it broad because I really don't know much about electro compared to how much I am listening to it lately. I would like to branch out as much as possible. Anne Clark I'll check out, any suggestions?

As the name suggests, I don't think DJ Kicks is a proper album, I guess it's more of a remix collection or live dj set. Their albums are bound to be more song based than that one, for sure.
Well both Broadcast and Lali Puna take their cue from krautrock, Kraftwerk, and in the first one's case psychedelic folk, with which I mean that they are not always that hook based as for example Hot Chip will be.
If you like pretty female voices, Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton is a good one as well. She's the singer of Metric, who I don't know very well. Her sound is on the safe side, with mainly voice and piano (almost no electronica here), but her songs are quite good and soothing. Good for when you've got a headache, for example. Try Knives Don't Have Your Back, for songs "Doctor Blind", "Our Hell", "Reading in Bed".

I apologize if I come off rude for not posting but I appreciate the suggestions since some have been very good!
You know, I listened to DJ Kicks on the train the other day and thought about this thread. I realized a few tracks in that its a DJ mix. It is still very enjoyable and the tracks that are their originals I do like a lot. I'll be sure to check out more of them and look past this misrepresentation with DJ Kicks.
Both Broadcast and Lali Puna are right up my alley. I'm not entirely set on Lali Puna's voice but it works well enough. Broadcast sounds promising. Both of these were short listens but I'm intrigued.
Krautrock is something I've been meaning to explore more since I love the few Kraftwerk albums I own. I was thinking of going for Can next since I haven't tried them out. If anyone has more suggestions in the accessible Krautrock department I'd be interested.
I'll take your advice for Emily Haines, shes about all I really enjoy in Metric but perhaps I need to give them another chance.
Tanjello, I'm not very good with the overwhelming amount of classifications in electronic music. What are some more "classic" examples of breaks type music?
I've had a chance to listen to Portishead and Massive Attack. Portishead I loved, the beats/production were right on and her voice is very pleasant. Great stuff that lives up to the hype.
Massive Attack. I sat there thinking I should love it and couldn't think of anything I didn't enjoy about the music, but for some reason it just didn't click. The singing is fine, the beats sound good and I do like the sexiness of it. But I think the songwriting is what got me, seemed predictable and felt like its trying too hard. I won't complain if I'm listening to it but I feel I'd rarely reach to turn it on.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, if anyones got anymore ideas I'd love to hear them!

Breaks is just music with a broken beat. A lot of house/electronic music just has that 4/4 beat to it (boom boom boom boom) breaks is more like (boom tish boom boom tish.) It has more of a groove to it. There are lots of styles of music that employs a breakbeat. What I am talking about is what they call Nu School Breaks, the style came out of England and was really big 2000-2005. The biggest, most commercial artists in the genre include The Plump DJ's, Stanton Warriors, Adam Freeland, Krafty Kuts and The Freestylers.
Breaks is like a cross between Drum and Bass, Hip Hop and Techno
