Bob Marley - Catch a Fire

Have a very easy take-home midterm to write, so time for some chilling.

Among my favorite Pandora radio stations:
1) Ska / Rock Steady / Early Dub (genre station)
2) Desmond Dekker
3) The Skatalites
Pandora has been my educator on 50's and 60's Jamaican music.

I have gone to two extremes with reggae lately. I have fallen in love again with Queen of the Mistrels by Cornell Campbell & The Eternals. But in the new erra I find myself listening to Gentleman out of Germany. I highly recomend taking a look at these two.

VA - The Harder They Come

Half of the songs are by Jimmy Cliff and this really is one of the ESSENTIAL records.

P.S. Just in case, no, I wasn't trying to imply that I'm smoking anything prior to completing the work at hand.

Would "prior to" be the keywords?

Scandal Ska

A cool compilation of ska music from the early sixties. There's a tie in with the movie called 'Scandal', but the music here goes beyond the music featured in that movie. Big names, soon to be big names and small names strut their stuff here. Some of the tune are copied from LPs because the master tapes are long gone. Screw the sound quality (I hate it when people complain about the sound quality of Jamaican recordings!) - this is a good time.
