When I think Country & Western...
...I think Marty Robbins.
Mr Robbins recorded not only my favourite country & western album, but one of my favourite albums period: Gunfighter Ballads & Trail Songs.
Which country & western artist defines the genre for you?

Seriously now, I like the theme from Smokie & the Bandit. Jerry Reed was his name I think. And I also like the Cannonball Run I title theme, although I can't find it anywhere to download. And Mel Tillis (?) from the Cactus Jack OST.
A few years back there was this song by Big & Rich "Save a horse - ride a cowboy"! That was great! Great video, too! And when I was a kid there was this monster hit "Don't tell my heart".
As I come to think of it, I should probably go country for a while.
