Fennesz Patton at Rockefeller Oslo
This was actually some weeks ago, but now I have time to write.
Liking both Fennesz and Patton in their own right I must say my expectations weren`t really off the hook. Having heard some other smaller Patton projects my opinion is that he should be more focused.
Anyway, getting there one and a half hour too early as a concert initiate I consumed a healthy dose of beer before the start. They started off real good with some white noise buildup with minimal rhythm, and as the PA there is really strong the sound was really intense and fuzzy. They continued off from this great start and held up a surprisingly tight concert.
Most of the concert had a noise feel to it which was the part that I liked best, some variations from Patton`s vocal abilities and Fennesz hammering on the guitar. Fennesz guitar was a bit too loud, but not his fault. It affected the performance a bit musically but I didn`t reach for my ears. Patton was really good I thought, delivering some strong vocal performances (some cracked me up), I could hear him going "best performance I ever did" to Fennesz right after the most challenging one. One hour was a bit short, but both crowd and them enjoyed the night, really got the taste for concerts now.

Good to see you enjoyed yourself. Never saw them perform together, myself.

Sounds like a great show. Did anyone catch the tour(s?) that Patton did with Rahzel?
