I'll be regretting not busting Beethoven's 9th for that post when taxes roll around...points get you a tax rebate, right?

I always feel ignorant posting in this thread, because I'm never sure which details of what I'm listening to I should post, and how I should write it out. If only it were as simple as the artist and recording, with all those other genres.

Like Satchmo said, if you want to hip other people to things you're listening to, you should indicate the:

composer / piece / performer (conductor/pianist...etc.)

If there are multiple recordings of the same piece by the same ensemble or performer (like Bernstein's Mahler recordings), try to indicate a year.

For instance. If I wanted to check out that Mendelssohn recording, I would have no idea (of the hundreds of recordings of the piece to choose from) how to find it.

Geryon will often say: "I'm listening to Beethoven's fifth." Which is fine, but I would never be able to figure out what recording it is, so the information is useless.
