I know Roivas has some sort of issues with Karajan, but from what I could tell this was one of his good recordings. I did my best to actually try and acquire a good performance, and my ears are still so untrained to classical that it isn't likely to matter in the near future.

His issues have more to do with how
Wilhelm Furtwängler (as in,
DA MAN) was treated after
WWII in comparison to
Karajan.
Wilhelm Furtwängler not only never joined the
Nazi party he never gave what is now known as the
Nazi salute (of course, it's a variation of the
Roman salute and people in the
U.S. used it to salute the
U.S. flag until
WWII....afterwards it was changed to
right-hand over your heart.) and
Karajan did....but it was
Wilhelm Furtwängler who was put on trial.
There is even footage of
DA MAN wiping his hand with a handkerchief after shaking
Goebbels hand after a performance of
DA KING's 9th.
As you can see in this video....a who's who of
Nazis were in the audience since it was the eve of
Hitler's birthday performance.

You will also notice
DA MAN's distinctive style of conducting. He might be the first
headbanger,
BABY!
