I think Jeff's playing ate up Mr. SRV in that clip. What's Stevie doing when he's hitting that one note over and over while doing the exaggerated hand movements and whatnot...showmanship I guess...kinda like Jeff standing and givin' 'er even though he was blind.

Jeff just had great note selection (kinda made 'his' playing sound a bit more 'outside of the box') and vibrato in his playing. I was never a huge SRV fan but I do like hearing him play. One thing that they had in common for me is that I didn't so much enjoy their songs and voices but I liked their playing. I just think Jeff got less 'credit' than he deserved and SRV got more.

Standard IMO applies.
