I finally got around to getting "Melts Your Brain, Not Your Wrist: The Complete Recordings of the Chocolate Watchband"... I already had about 90% of what is on there... The re-mastering of this set is awesome!!!
My questions is:
What is your opinion of their lead guitarist Mark Loomis? I view him as sort of a mini-Jorma. Loomis was too messed up on drugs to record with the band when they reformed (for like the fourth time) for their last album (Jerry Miller of the Moby Grape filled in). I think Loomis is still alive and I wonder what he did with his life the last 40 years.
I wonder often about these 60's psychedelic artists who did great stuff but never sold many albums (and I am sure made little money from their music)...
I recently have been in contact with Matthew Moore of The Moon... I inquired to him about what he has been up to for 40 years. It seems he has made a living as a musician/producer, but it is sad these quality musicians never got their due...
But what about Loomis. Any opinions?
