Samarium Cobalt

What's the dilly with these samarium cobalt pickups? Are they all that?

Torn between getting a new Telecaster Deluxe (with the SC PUs) or a late 60s / early 70s model.

I don't know. These things look pretty sweet on paper. I might have to head over to a guitar store and play one of the newer Deluxe Strats.

Noiseless single coils? WTH?

OMG, they make replacement SCN PUs for Strats as well.

They had better start to make P-90s with this material as well.

So I go into a Guitar Center to try these things out.

After a few minutes of "???" from the staff, I find out that there are no American Deluxe Fenders in the entire place.

Isn't that a little weird?

I don't know if it's widespread, but I've noticed a serious lack of guitars in the guitar centers in my area. (Not that I'm looking for one myself, but I have noticed.) At least, any that a serious musician would want to own/could afford. They seem to be shifting focus to the hobbyist/beginning musician.

Yep. Cheap crap for teenagers. It's okay...there are better places in my area.

Okay...I played the new Deluxe Tele and Strat. The Strat I like. The Tele sounds too sterile to me.
