1. He wasn't talking about
Cage. The fact that he added in
"inspiring" composers should have been a hint. A couple decades ago
Cage wouldn't have been considered an
inspiring composer.....especially when you consider he had been composing since
1932 and died a little over
15-years-ago.

What is Music?". His work
4:33 (from
1952) has lead many to ask that, however. So in that way he indirectly asked the question....if that's what you mean, that is?
