Lupe Fiasco
He has a new album out so why not mention him. Is he the diamond in rough rapper the world doesn't know enough about or a Kanye West cloned younger to get more kids hooked on dope?
I don't know what he is. I mean he's another Chicago rapper who doesn't have a click so that's similar enough to Kanye for me to call them kin.
Anyway I haven't heard all of it but I like his new album The Cool. I like the single "Superstar" I like his story song "Hip Hop Saved My Life", I like his little club joint "Put You On Game", I like his haterz song "Dumb It Down" and I like his brush ya shoulders off song "Gold Watch".
I haven't heard the whole album but I'll probably like that shit too. I hope someone out there can tell me if theres anything I'm over looking. Like why isn't this guy the next whatever? In my gushing I know I'm missing stuff. I suppose "Gotta Eat" is too repetitive.
I'm not gushing, gushing... I just think he's cool is all.
...and the beats are hot too!

I have Food and Liquor, and owe it another listen. The few times I've listened to it, I thought it had its moments, with a lot of potential (and the man has excellent flow), but overall didn't really stick with me, and parts of it just sounded stupid to me. However, I keep hearing all this praise from varying sources, so I'll give it another shot. Haven't heard a thing off of the Cool yet.

I'm just now getting stuff from Food & Liquor and potential is the vibe I'm getting. I did do some research on a song he did call "Mean & Vicious" which is pretty dope. Also I like a song he did called "Twilight Zone" not on his major albums.
Immediately when "Kick, Push" came out I know that I liked the song but when I found out his album was called Food & Liquor it was a turn off.

I want to like Kick, Push a lot, because the production and melody are tight, but I can't keep a straight face when I listen to the lyrics. I mean, skating. Come onnnnnnnn.
