Why do I get a bad taste in my mouth everytime I hear about "Christian" music?
There isn't any reason why a Christian-Rap group couldn't be as good as a non-Christian group. I also don't see anything wrong with making music that was inspired by your faith. Faith can be a pretty powerful thing.
Then, what's my problem? Well, I've got two reasons.

Imagine you are listening to a song and out of the blue, you begin to hear about how great Pepsi tastes, and how you should really just go out and get some. That's how I feel when I listen to overly-preachy songs. I'm already well aware of your religion. If I was interested, I would read the Bible. Stop trying to recruit me. General rule of thumb: If a band labels themselves "Christian", they are usually overly-preachy.
#2 - Quality
The vast majority of the Christian-:Insert Genre Here: music just isn't worth listening to. If it's not preachy, derivative, or corny, chances are it just falls into another category called bland. There's nothing wrong with telling us how much you love God, but its been done... for ages.

No, I've never heard of him. So, I decided to check him out. Hey, maybe it's something good.
Musicman132, since you've blessed me with the opportunity to think, I'll return the favor. KJ-52 falls under the category of "derivative." He's followed the footsteps of a very well known Christian-hating rapper. There's nothing wrong with using another artist for inspiration, except that he is an exact copy. Everything from his sound and flow to his humor and dress have been reproduced.
So, who is he ripping off?

Pretty obvious. Well, since Em hasn't really been active recently, it's KJ's chance to cash in on those clueless white kids who don't know rap or anything about music in general.
Might be a little damn better if he didn't say the same thing over and over and over and over and over again. Plus the old dude in the beginning pisses me off.

The problem with christian rap is that it always seems like the artists try too hard, they can't find their own style, they're music is normally not original tracks (they rap over "secular" songs) and they really try hard to convince you that they are hard.
If there was something unique about it, something less gimmicky about how they put things over a/k/a real life situations it would do better and get more recognition.

His record Sins is pretty enjoyable!!
Oh.., or it was this record first released by this punk band called Catholic Church? I'm not sure.
