Strawberry Jam was the one I called really painful....and it is if you have Absolute Pitch, or for that matter, someone with reasonably working ears.
Boxer, I said the first three songs at the time bored me and Jumped the Shark. I went back and relistened since then.

You're welcome.
This is a secret between us....one way or another most of my posts have homework included. Only those amongst you with a clue, catch on.
Of course, this is off the record, on the QT and very hush-hush.

A correction edit was done with the Neil Young Massey Hall....it's not a reissue but the first official release....I've had a bootleg of that performance for a few decades....it's now under the Discovery/Vault/From a Closet/Under a Bed list.

Satchmo, as far as the rap section goes, you ever listen to Blue Scholars? I'd heard of them a couple times before I got here, but they're huge in Seattle, logically because they're the only really notable rap group from around here. I saw them with Hieroglyphics about a week and a half ago (Hieroglyphics was waaaaay better, the best rap set I've ever seen, but for the aforementioned reasons Blue Scholars got top billing and a lot more enthusiasm from the crowd) and they put on a really good show. Their 2007 album Bayani is pretty good, in case you haven't heard it, as well as an EP they released called the Long March. Lyrics and production are both really strong.
P.S. For what it's worth, both members are also UW grads.

I agree, it is a pretty good list. To be honest I've already heard almost all the records in the list above, and the ones missing, are on my wishlist now.
Thanks.

I'm really bad myself at keeping up with new music; I'm always really busy trying to fill myself in on the last 90 years' worth. In fact, I usually end up squeezing in a bunch of new albums at the end of the year so I can get an idea of some stuff that came out that I liked and make a list, etc. Although it could be different now that I'm in college, have less money, and have started downloading in very controlled amounts. Time to get a job.
