You know, I'm finding that The Shins are getting less and less interesting. I found Wincing the Night Away a fairly boring album.

I'd read a lot of hype about her pervious album but it didn't really interest me at that time. Anyway, I just saw her video for the single "Birdflu"(with the Pelvic Thrust Move™) and realized that she is pretty damn hot. I mean she could easily be one of the top heroines in Tamil movie industry. This is the face tamil men dream about afaict. Also I guess the pelvic thrusts takes this album a notch above the last one.

Nice list chrysanthym. I really enjoyed Person Pitch. Would that be your last year's favorite?
The only album from your list I couldn't stand was Wold's Screech Owl, I think they crossed the line with the distortion.

But I would likely say, but not necessarily, that Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings produced my favourite album of '07 with 100 Days, 100 Nights. Also, to my surprise, Arcade Fire produced a good record with Neon Bible. Pinback had a good year with Autumn of the Seraphs. Concha Buika's Mi Nina Lola (high five to Satch) was a nice record.
However, these albums are more in the style of The Zola and are all stellar:
Jimmy Duck Holmes was bringing Bentonia back ( ) with his great album Done Got Tired of Tryin'. It was great to see Ms. Koko Taylor back with her ablum Old School. James Blood Ulmer kicks arse, and his Bad Blood in the City: The Piety Street Sessions is his usual unique Blues awesomeness. And Bobby Rush produced the best album of his career with Raw.
Solid.

The list is pretty much in order of how much I listened to the albums. And I really liked that Wold album. The distortion is crazy ugly. I am the Chisel was one of my favorite songs of the year. Black metal should be loud, crunchy, and bleak just like that album.
