Considering we seemed to find out about underground musicians/bands quicker back in the days of stone tablets....that's an excuse with more holes than swiss cheese.

At least you had rock stations. I had/have countless radio stations but the only ones who play rock is the American Forces Network.

On the topic of help, I'd like to ask for some metal suggestions. First, the background info....

I'm an old guy. How old? The 2 bands I've seen in concert most often in my life are Iron Maiden and the Ramones. I always loved the metal of my day. Stuff like Maiden, Priest, Dio, Megadeth, Metallica, Motley Crue, Motorhead, Pantera, etc. I also like some slightly newer stuff like Godsmack and Rage Against The Machine.

So much for the 80s and 90s. I'd like to broaden my metal horizons to include more metal from the current decade. I'd like to get some recommendations for current metal bands and/or albums BUT....

I can't stand bands that have those "cookie monster" dry heaving vocalists that have become common over the last 10 years or so.

I'm not putting down those cookie monster guys or the people that like that kind of thing. I'm just being honest and forthcoming about my own tastes and what I am looking for.

Any type of lyrical content is OK, I don't care how dark or evil or sinister it is. I'm looking for new (or recently new) aggressive metal that doesn't include those growling cookie monster kind of vocals.

Know of anybody that I should check out?

Thanks!
