But it's always been like that. It's not like RS is an institution for the prosperity of music.

BTW, I've read that RS for the most part tried to ignore Kiss as much as possible back in the 70s. Is that true Satchmo? Now don't tell me you weren't skimming RS back then, either...

I personally don't know. They certainly hated Cream and Led Zeppelin though.

Really? I'd have thought that LZ were on the RS frontpage six times per year or something!
What was it like in the 80s? Was it an anti-glam mag? I've heard that 'Crüe had their first RS frontpage in '88.

It haven't been always like that. When it started, it was a totally different magazine.

From the Wikipedia:
Quote:
In the early 2000s, facing competition from lad mags such as Maxim and FHM, Rolling Stone reinvented itself, hiring former FHM editor Ed Needham. The magazine started targeting younger readers and offering more sex-oriented content, which often focused on sexy young television or film actors as well as pop music.

Whenever you want...chiron kinda started a thread for it, but you should make a new one that's more obvious and official sounding.

Les savy Fav were good and I am happy to say they still are good.
