It's lists like that which make Satchmo want to stay above ground to save past/current/future Grasshoppas from people who put together lists like that.

aka

It's a good thing I wasn't in the middle of drinking any Single Malt or just ate anything before looking at those lists.

What does it matter how many tracks there happens to be?

Why do they call these "Editor's Picks" instead of Indie Rock List? Amazingly narrow field of selection, and anyway how good can a list be when a techno album is the top album of the year?

sometimes I don't know how to respond to comments like these, but I will just say that Autechre hasn't come out with an album with more than 10 tracks in 9 years (from 2008). Quantity doesn't always mean quality, but with the number of tracks on one disc (unless they surprise everyone with a 2 disc set) just makes me think that there's a lot of things to be unexpected.

just my thoughts.

P.S. If you wanted to argue about the whole '10 tracks in 9 years thing', you could bring up the repress of Gescom's 'Minidisc' which has 88 tracks, but 1) that's not a proper album and 2) it's a repress!
