Interesting study about how some parts of the brain shut down while others are highly activated on musicians during a musical improvisation.

So would this mean the best improv artists are the worst self-censors?

seems about right. i've always described my best improv moments as those when my brain 'shuts off'

Why hasn't someone told me about the Go-Betweens earlier?

Shame on everyone...

Just picked up "Before Hollywood" and digging it terribly well.

Well I have no credibility now.

I just heard a band on the TV that was fairly decent Rap/Rock with the nice addition of a soulful female vocalist that I was enjoying...

...turns out its a "Christian" hip hop artist spun off from DC Talk "TobyMac".

I still didn't hate it, though...I'm sorry to report.

After a big announced reunion, Warrant fired their lead singer Jani Lane again (apperently due to lousy performances) after a handful of shows and replaced him with former Lynch Mob vocalist Rob Whateverhisnamewas.

I just went to the gym, and when I got out of the car, Speak to Me/Breathe by Pink Floyd had just started playing on the radio. I decided to listen to Dark Side of the Moon while running, which I did, in its entirety. When I returned to my car a little under an hour later, I turned the radio on again and Eclipse was just finishing, on the same station. I inferred from what the DJ said that they had only played that song and Brain Damage, as opposed to having played the whole album, which obviously wouldn't make sense timing wise anyway, except maybe because of commercials. Anyway, it was weird.
